My HCA1000 is in the shop. Toying with the idea of a 2250 or similar to run the SDA 2B's and also a pair of Niles OS20 outdoor speakers. The Niles sound decent off the AVR so I figure feeding them some better juice can only be a positive thing? Would the 2250 treat the 2B's as well(or better) thn the HCA amp did?
Yep, my name really is Bob.

You will hear a significant improvement with the 2250. Go for it.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Having a quick look at the specs shows that they both deliver the same amount of peak current, but the 2250 has twice the wattage. Can't imagine it wouldn't produce a better sound with the 2B's. Don't know much about those Nile speakers but I bet they're efficient if the AVR does well with them.
If your AVR has pre outs I'd try using the Parasound to power only the 2B's, and compare that with using it to power all 4."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer
