question about passive radiators, yeah after all these years

I get that it takes a bunch of air to move the passive to perform it's best and make any said speaker go down even lower than a hot bass driver. My question is if we all w/ vintage Polks deaden the air space w/ poly fill up top, Dynamat on the baskets and Black Hole-5 the most potent of deadening material known, how does this passive still produce unheard of slamming lows if all drivers are front firing ? Please if there is a math formula involved go easy on me I failed algebra 1 about 7 x and they didn't know what to do w/ me....

    A Passive Radiator is nothing more than a different type of port. It has it's advantages and disadvantages

    I'd guess it still works because the drivers are still producing cabinet pressure (which must be released via the passive moving). The polyfill, blackhole-5, etc is only in there to help reduce sound reflections. I don't think the fill would change cabinet pressure much either way...
