In the beginning of the movie, Tom Cruise goes to a record shop in London. he gets his "assignment" in the form of an LP, which he plays on a very modded Technics SL-1200, and of course the LP self-destructs. Ya gotta love it. Great movie.

Sounds like that scene is worth the price of admission -- that is, if you are a verifiably insane audiophile!Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.
Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Was actually an enjoyable movie. Saw it Tuesday night."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -
I saw it last night and yes, the record shop scene was quite fun. The "What kind of music are you looking for" exchange between Hunt (Cruise) and the girl in the shop was really enjoyable.
The movie itself...fantastic! The Mission Impossible franchise could have gotten old by now, but with the last 2 movies, it's stronger than ever. If you're going to hit the theater for a movie soon, without a doubt...see Mission Impossible!
The motorcycle chase...yeah!No excuses! -
I've read where Cruise is a Vinyl guy, I'd say he had something to do with the opening scene.
Excellent movie, loved all the BMW's, both bikes and cars. -
Cruise is into music and great equipment.. His last visit on Fallon they discussed stereo equipment.. Look it up on youtube.. Fallon was amazed at how he mentioned to Tom that he was thinking of setting up an audio room.. Tom sent him an e-mail with a list of gear to purchase.. McIntosh and such.

The newest Mission Impossible movie was one of the most boring movies I've seen in a long time. I considered walking out of the theater like halfway through the movie. I thought that scene was pretty cool though. The nirvana inducer-

I don't know if it's all the movies now or simply this director but every time a character spoke the camera was right in their face.. The shot was from the neck or shoulder up.. Man, pan back a little, damn..
