Am I a genius or are they just lazy?
The finale would have made a fascinating opening episode, even if it led backwards in storyline to an anticlimactic ending.
I never expected a Mcconaghey caliber performance or even a harrelson performance or the dynamics of their relationship.
That stuff is rare, even nic pizzolatos writing that first year.
But in my opinion he should step back after this fiasco.

Season 1 was hands down better and in a league of its own, but I enjoyed season 2. The plot was way too convoluted, but it had its moments. Red Sonja--think of Brigitte Nielsen in a starring movie role, and shudder. While not technically the third Conan movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger was in this one in a supporting role playing the role of a barbarian warrior so some consider it to be the third and he considers it to be the worst movie he's been involved with.
Or Batman and Robin--the one with George Clooney as Batman and Arnold as a villain. Ridiculous, but maybe Arnold thinks this is better than Red Sonja. -
I did enjoy Spider-Man 2 (2004) over the original. I haven't watched any of the True Detective series, keep hoping they will have a series that takes place in the 40's along the lines of L.A. Confidential film noir style. Sorry to hear this season was such a letdown compared to the first season.

I partially agree on the True Detective Season 2... I say partially, because I don't think it would be right to say "I agree 100%" since we gave up after the 5th episode and stopped watching it. Season 1 was going to be tough to top, but I thought they'd at least come closer...

Don't know if this qualifies as a 'sequel', but we watched a DVD last weekend. It was a pirated DVD recorded originally on someone's VCR in Iowa I think... back in 1978.

It was so bad you couldn't look away. Rumor has it that it aired only once, and George Lucas tried to have all copies destroyed.
Yes, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, a coked-up Carrie Fisher, and even Chewbacca (along with his family Malla, Itchy, and Lumpy) star in it. Rounding off the cast are... wait for it... Art Carney, Bea Arthur, and Harvey Korman.

Man I waited until the season was over to stream it on HBO Go and haven't started yet due to all the horrible reviews, and I now I am not sure I ever will. The first season was pretty phenomenal. But honestly who thought that Vince Vaughn could act, must less measure up the either Matthew McConaughey or Harrelson. And I have never cared for Colin Farrell either. What has he been good at? Just seems like bad casting if you ask me...

This reminds me of my idiocy...
I was told by several people that I HAD to watch True Detective. So I fired up my HBO Now and went to turn it on. Well, I had several distractions and quickly opened everything up, took care of my daughter and went back the TV. Hastily turned on the show and watched.
By the end, I was kinda confused but blown away by how good it was!
Well, in my rush i forgot that HBO Now defaults to the LAST episode, not the first. So I watched the friggin finale!!!
Now I have to decide if I'm going to watch the full season...
If I do, should I watch it in reverse?

In my humble, you should only use the previous episodes if you are out of ambien.
The Inane dialogue and endless uneventful plot would be a great sub with no side effects.
I use a white noise generator called a sleepmate at night to distract me from my endless circle of thoughts and tinnitus, Vince Vaughns church whisper dialogue should be a great sub for that.humpty dumpty was pushed
