Going to visit Rehoboth area...what to see/do?

We'll be staying in a house at Slaughter Beach to avoid the crowds for the most part. I'm sure we'll wind up in Rehoboth or Dewey, etc. a time or two. I'm a Dogfish Head beer fan and we'll visit their brew pub in Rehoboth and may even take a tour of the brewery in Milton. What are some of the places to see or activities given we'll only be there for a few days? I can lay on the beach for only so long until I get bored. Was considering a jet ski rental.

Check out Lewes Beach while you're there. It's the closest to you from Slaughter. Lot's of neat little shops to browse in. Half Full is a small restaurant that serves soup, salads and pizza. Their pizza is quite a change from your typical pizza. Some of the best I've eaten.Toppings like crab&corn, cognac-tomato sauce. Delicious! They have a small but very good tap selection too.
I go the beach to eat and imbibe. Fin's on Coastal Highway just outside of Rehoboth is another good place to eat. If you're going to Rehoboth to put your toes in the sand, get there by 10:00AM if you want to be in front of the boardwalk.
You can ride the Jolly Trolley from the Boardwalk in Rehoboth to Dewey Beach, which is convenient.
The wife and I were down there about two weeks ago. Dogfish Head?? Never heard of it. :p
On your return trip if time permits, swing through Hershey and visit Troegs Brewery.

Funny you mention Troegs, I have to be in Harrisburg next week and I plan to find time to make a visit. Loves me a pint of Troegenator.
I hear they have a nice cafe too.

The Bottle and Cork in Dewey has some pretty decent musical acts. Buddy Guy is playing there 8/20, for instance. For restaurants, Rehoboth can't be be beat. Henlopen City Oyster House, the Dogfish Head brewpub, and Stingray are the first ones to come to my mind. Plenty of fishing charters in the area. You could take the ferry to Cape May, NJ for the day.

Yes. The Lewes/Cape May ferry is worthwhile. You can usually find coupons in the local tourist mags for the ferry. It'll be a reduced rate for foot passengers and also grab round trip fare for the shuttle that takes you from the terminal to the Washington Street Mall in Cape May. Lovely historic town.

A couple blocks north of The Bottle and Cork is Dewey Beer Co. They're not open for lunch (opens at 3:00 for happy hour, 4:00 serving food). So I missed out on that adventure. A block south is Gary's. They had Lagunitas WTF on tap which made the day a win for me.

Another place in Lewes is Agave. A pricey Mexican restaurant with an upstair lounge. Their Margaritas are excellent. Best choices are the Blue Curacao or the Pomegranate Margarita.

There were plenty of other places i don't remember the name or location of.
I'll ask the wife what we liked and get back to you.

Since you're a Dogfish Head fan, they have aged 120 Minute available at the brewpub. At least they did 3 weeks ago.
Daughter had a bottle from 2011. I had the Eton Rifle pub exclusive. That was the only pub exclusive on the board at the time.

    Enjoy!
