aha moment with lsim705

The other day, finally got a few minutes to listen to some tunes undisturbed. Was enjoying how I couldn't really hear the sound coming from the speakers, looked like it was coming out of the center channel, but its amp was off. And then it happened. I heard something new in a song that I had been listening to for decades (mind you, I first used to enjoy this song for it's bassline, which still requires a sub as the 705's don't hit the low notes with authority on this track )...it was a cattle bell sound. It was faint, but clear. I asked my cousin if he remembered ever hearing that before and he didn't recall hearing it before either.

Had the same experience listening to Roger Waters '' Amused To Death '' on vinyl. I was expecting it but it was still great .

Awesome man. My dad never understands why that's such a big deal, but it's a shocking moment when it happens.

That's why I enjoy the audio gatherings and chat....so I don't have the wife giving that WTF look and others looking with that HuH I don't get it face :/

Lol, my wife has better hearing than me and would hear even a bigger difference. First time I hooked up, she was like, these new speakers are so much clearer than the other ones (rti10s) . I could hear a difference but not as significantly as she did.

The song wouldn't be a common one on this board, chura liya by bally sagoo...a remake of a Bollywood song. It was one of the first high quality studio productions of Indian music I had heard...up until then most of the Indian stuff I had heard was low quality recordings. He's a UK producer and I think that album was released on a major label like Sony.

Thanks. I checked out the version that's available on Amazon Prime Music. I have heard that tune before, and the remake sounds well produced. Glad to hear you are enjoying your LSiM's.

Yup, that album was light years ahead in terms of production and sound quality versus most of the other desi albums out at the time. I remember blasting that tune in my dorm rooms especially after I got my nice little yamaha 8inch sub to go with my Kenwood minisystem.
