My system, modest yet mighty. Yes, the best things can come in small packages.

    rq186ehbupg0.jpg
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

Ultimately I think it depends on the speaker manufacturer's design. Mine (Salk's) recommends critical listening be done with the grills off as it can affect the sound (especially off axis). The grill frame is in very close proximity to the sides of midrange and sides/top of tweeter. I put them back on when done listening. Real easy as they are held on with magnets.

I used to be in the no grill camp with my 1.2tl's but after swapping the cloith with the stuff I got from Magnepan, there is no need.

I'll go on record with a pic of my modest hybrid HT/Music system. Not much but it does the job alright.
