For a really great dynamic vintage sound that people cannot believe, hook up a Pioneer SX-1250 (160wpc) to a pair of Monitor 7s. I have a DVD-Audio player outputing the front channels to a Pair of monitor 7's through an SX-1250, the rear channels to a pair of monitor 5's through an SX-950, and the center channel split into the stereo inputs of an SX-838 and then bi-amping an RT-55. You have to of course adjust the volume controls to get the right balance but once you do and write the settings down, it is as good as it gets.
