Re: I'd like to hear your explanation of the advantages of the SRT's over the SRS's.
Rick,
Ok, First of all the SRT has all the capability to go louder than any SRS's, secondly the SDA soundstage of the SRT's deeper, wider not to mention the SRT's has build-in Subs that
go below 16hz. You can play any type of music from classical to hard rock or even movies, activate the movie mode of the SRT control center the bass will go even deeper. What I like most of it is that it has a control center this controls your subs and the SDA soundstages. The control center is the most important features of the SRT's. Like I said to you that I have 2-pairs of RTA 11TL's I set-up these pairs as SDA array and Stereo Array and connected to the control center of the SRT and guess what? I was blown I didn't expect to sounds the same like the SRT it is like Baby SRT's very very impressive the sound and imaging is wide and open. The 2 SL3000 of the RTA 11TL in each stereo array and sda array works flawlessly. I think any type of speakers you can set-up for SDA's as long as you have the Control Center of the SRT that 's why Polk stop making it I think this is one reason. When I discovered I asked Ken if I can order another SRT Control Center and he said they no longer making not even one stock. I have seen one at ebay selling but at that time I do not have the SRT yet and I think no one buy it because nobody knows. Yes that's all you need to have SDA's SRT.
For the SRS's (especially the 1.2TL) what I like with it is the treeble but not much difference.
Take care,
Har
Har,
After seeing many of your old posts on the PolkAudio forum I was wanting your opinion about the Polk SRT's .vs. SRS's.
I have in the past owned a pair of SRS's but I have yet to even hear the SRT's and I have an opportunity to buy a set.
I was wondering if you could compare and contrast the two since I know you have a good deal of experience with both ?
Either one clearly better in some or all areas than the other ?
Thanks in advance for any and all comments,
Rick

Har,
That's really quite interesting regarding the control center as I would have thought that for some reason there were additional components in the line arrays of the speakers themselves that made this work.
When you questioned Ken about the control center at the time did you by chance ask him if a schematic was available ? I would think that the SDA portion of the electronics wouldn't be that difficult to clone and possibly improve upon. -
-
Wha?"Its worked so far but we're not out yet."
"Hey big man let me hold a dollar" -
That's a good question, I will e-mail Ken if I can get schematics for my SRT control center just in case something goes wrong.
There are no additional components for what I understand. The stereo array of the SRT satellite is the same as the SRT Center Channel and the SDA array doesn't have tweeter. The Control center controls everything. The crossovers for the stereo and sda arrays are the same as a regular crossovers.
If you have just the SRT control center, and if you have the 2 pairs of RTA 15TL and with the SVS subs you have a killer system!!! -

It's Har's breath you are smelling.
PW,
You are certainly your own person, and have the right to do as you please, but I would advise you not to even speak with the **** who started this post. It certainly won't make you many friends around here, for what that's worth.
If you email Ken directly, I'm sure he will be happy to answer any and all questions you have on SDA / SRT, if it cannot be answered here.
Cheers,

Russman,
I personally had an interest in Har's experience with the SRT's and SRS's since he has owned both for some time. I emailed him off the board about it because I no longer thought he was active here and he chose to make it public without regard to my opinion about doing that.
I think we've all been apprised of the facts regarding the transaction that took place and for that I think all here are appreciative. However, it's not my place to either condemn or condone what took place since I wasn't in the middle of it and I'm not sure why a variety of others who weren't directly involved feel the need to continue to trash threads that they have no particular interest in but if for some reason that's necessary then I guess the rest of us will just have to read through those comments.
If you are suggesting guilt by association is a good thing then it may be time for me to move along as well. If you or others have additional comments that you'd like to make me aware of please do so via PM so that the rest of the world doesn't have to read about it for the umpteenth time here. -
I understand what you are saying, but when a forum member rips another forum member off, they cannot, and will not be allowed to just continue making casual posts as if everything is hunky dory. Right or wrong, that's the way it's handled.
No reason for you to go anywhere, that's for sure. I think you've got a lot to contribute, and have enjoyed your posts.
Cheers,

Hey, as long as it wasn't me that got shafted, everything is fine. Right?
I, me, mine. In that order.

No of course not ... But, I have NO first hand knowledge of what happened. All I have to go on is what was posted at the time which I tripped over awhile back in searching for other stuff. It seemed to be pretty much self explanatory and as I already stated warnings are fine, but who wants to continually read this stuff. I come here for R & R, not for a weekly clan meeting.

I look at it this way, there are people that I don't like and disagree with and I have no issue with them posting and so forth.
There are those who have comitted if not illegal, definately immoral and unethical acts against others on this forum. I don't believe that these people should be welcome to participate nor encouraged in anyway to do so. There is no gray area there.
Right, wrong or indifferent, that's how I look at it.I plan for the future. - F1Nut -
PW,
The fact that har posted your inquiry and his reply rather than reply privately to you should tell you something about him.
Harry was as respected a member as there was around here for his love and knowledge of Polks in general and SDA/ SRT's in particular. And then...
Understand that the core of this forum was hurt and/ or shocked by the events that transpired and the accusations that followed.More later,
