Question about Polk Center speakers

I am looking to purchase some home theater speakers for my house.
However, my floor plan is not optimal for perfect sound options.
I am currently planning on purchasing and RC85i speakers for the rear surround RC80i speakers for the front surround.
Here is my question…
I am considering purchasing the 255C-RT speaker and install it in ceiling as my center speaker. However, I have read on various forums that people strongly suggest NOT putting your center channel in the ceiling. I have 9’ ceilings and an open floor plan, so will it work well (as it is marketed as an in-ceiling speaker) ?
Alternatively, I am considering purchasing one of your enclosed center speakers and try to mount it directly above or below my tv on the same articulating tv mount as the tv (again, the tv mount is due to my not perfect floor plan). Would that be preferable to installing the 255C-RT in the ceiling? If so, will I be able to mount your center speakers to a tv mount, perhaps by using something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Direct-Universal-Soundbar-Bracket/dp/B00823170Y/ref=pd_sim_23_12?ie=UTF8&refRID=0PGVX5VTKF78GJA14K0A
Also, if the enclosed speaker is the better option, would it be better to install it above or below the tv, based on my proposed set up?
Along the same lines, which enclosed center speaker would best match the surround speakers I have chosen above?
While I am at it, which of your subwoofers would work well with the above configuration?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Welcome to cp!
As u can see in my sig (if ur not on a noble device) I run all in ceilings except my center and sub. Those are the two pay important speakers in a surround sound setup, so it works well. I highly suggest getting a good stand alone (box style) center channel speaker, a great one is the polk csi5 or csi a6.
I would pick a little sturdier mount, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00155PSXS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1438400369&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=center+channel+speaker+mount&dpPl=1&dpID=31c+FNKkQyL&ref=plSrch
Are you planning on running a sub? And what receiver will you be using?

I wouldn't go ceiling for the center, get an enclosed center channel and mount it above or below your TV. Doesn't matter which. Try to get the tweeters pointed at your ears where you will be listening as best as possible.
Polk is a great company, truly, but having said that I'd look somewhere else for a sub. Just one persons opinion, however.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I'm very happy with my SVS subs. I used to have Polk subs. (But the rest of their speaker lines rock!)

Any suggestions as to which enclosed speaker would best match from a sound perspective with the rear and front speakers I am considering?

CSiA6...the big bad mama of the RTi line for centers...if it's too big...there's it's smaller brother the CSiA4. But you really want to have the best center channel you can, I personally had to wiggle my CSiA6 into my system rack but so worth it! That said I'd also recommend you look at the RT series for inwalls, just my two cents.
Definitely agree. Get the biggest baddest center channel you can afford. Otherwise I almost gauarantee you will be left disappointed.
