Warren Haynes Band

Last night I got to watch on the Palladia channel The Warren Haynes Band from The Moody Theater in Austin. Since CableVision changed it's programming I lost all interest in the station and for that I missed some great shows. This was a full band and not Gov't Mule. He had a full horn section and he was the only guitarist. It was in all a 3 hr show and was taped in 2011, very impressive. Along w/ concerts like this they have Live From Darryl's House, Darryl Hall invites famous players to do their thing at his beautiful house in upstate N.Y. and 2 other standouts are Later w/ Joules Holland and also on just last night an hour of RailRoad Earth Band @ Red Rocks. The Later show has a great concept where A-Listers and up and comers are all in this circle of sorts and play off one another w/ the headliner not always getting top billed or last to go on.

Will look for that. Warren is playing with RR Earth at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington next Monday. Really looking forward to that. RR Earth is some excellent bluegrass.

VC, I know how dated this was. Recorded in 2011, but is shows to me at least that 1. Warren Haynes is relevant and 2. he can play w/ anyone. The only disappointing show I saw was w/ him as the lead for the Grateful Dead in 2009. This was to put it mildly, not so good but he can play w/ anybody. You want Bluegrass, RRE is the band to see, I thought Union Station was the band to hear...WOW
