Old Timer - With New-To-Me 1.2TLs

I am FINALLY ready to begin bringing a pair of 1.2 TLs back to life. I need to start with the tweeters, because they are all missing... :-(

I have been reading and it seems the RDO-198 is the ideal replacement. Is this correct ?

Is it possible to order them online ?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Call Polk customer service to order them and tell them you are a member here. That will save you some coin on the 198's

    Welcome!

You have a fun --and potentially costly -- project ahead of you.

But, you will find all the guidance you need on this Forum, and, most important, you will be richly rewarded with great sound if you fully mod those 1.2TLs.

You probably don't need help with this to start out with, considering you are looking at $400 bucks in tweeters (with the Polk discount) just to start...

    Welcome, BTW!

Thanks for all the replies. I will go with the RDO-198s since none of you screamed in horror about the question. :-)

Yes, the RD-0198's are the correct replacement tweeter, and also an upgrade from the stock SL3000's that were originally used.

Lots of great DIY posts here on the forum on other upgrade projects, including rebuilding the Xovers, replacing the Big SDA inductor, replacing the inductors on the Xover Boards, Dynamatting the driver baskets, Larry's Rings or Hurricane Nuts, installing Black Hole 5, etc.

Lots of well meaning help here if you want it. Not only accept the advice but use it to it's fullest potential. 1.2TLs, very nice place to start as far as SDA speakers go. With all that, yes the RDO-198 and go w/ this a first and easy drop in mod. Many, many threads on full upgrades all depending on your way of doing things and down to the simplest and least expensive way to go about it, Read on most member's sigs to see what was accomplished by each member usually over time.
