Timbre Matching: Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 w/ Polk
I just bought a system that I hope will turn out great when I set it up this afternoon. I'm going to test it out over the next couple of weeks to make sure everything meshes well together.
Receiver: Marantz NR-1403
Front L&R: Polk RTi A3
Center: Polk CSi A4
Sub: Polk 505
However, after a lot of research, I just have one worry. The majority of people who have heard the A3's play music are really underwhelmed. I purchased mine for $295 w/ a 5 year warranty, but I've seen the Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's going for $315 with the same warranty. They have slightly smaller drivers, but I have only heard rave reviews about their musical performance.
For a system that will be likely be used more for music than for HT, do you think the Wharfedales would be a better match for my system? I'd spend up to $400 for if it made a significant difference.

So, you haven't even gotten the system you listed and you are already disappointed with the A3s and thinking of changing over?
Give them a try first - you may actually like them. I liked my A3s for music....but keep perspective for the price.
H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.
