Nice set up! Love garage rigs! Too bad I live so far north and my garage is a winter salt/dust magnet in the summer! Can't do a garage rig up here. That will have to wait till retirement.

I do have some ideas though. Have an old Pioneer VSX-7500 (pretty similar to the 9500 and shares some internals with the TOTL VSX-D1S of the early '90s?) And maybe some Monitor 10s or Boston A100s or both? A Sony CDP, and a cheap TT from the early 80s, maybe a LAB 395?

We recently moved and I built a new garage rig on the cheap. Sounds fantastic.

Very cool Garage Rigs! One day I will have a "decent" Garage setup myself, featuring CRS + SDA's and some Vintage gear driving them....Rock ON!!!

My stereo system is in the garage. It is completely finished with carpet over concrete, insulated, air conditioned and heated. I had family move in for a couple of years so we turned it into a play room that morphed into a man cave (complete with power panel, hot water heater, etc). I have not parked a car in it for years. The nice thing is that it has an insulated exterior door into the house that is a long way from the bedroom so when the wife goes to bed I let the system rock!ck6ke1accbpx.jpg

I have a pair of those that need to restore. They sound great the way the are can imagine after rebuild. Talking SDA-1C's but not for the garage.

    Cheers

I don't like the idea of electronics in the garage, they tend to sweat when heating the garage here in the north. I just use zone 2 off the main system, an IR repeater, and an old 13" TV to control it all.

A little pic of the two channel in garage. The 4's on top of the 10's are just for show. New drivers in the 10's are loosing up nicely. Trey's cross overs are purely awesome. Vr3 is da man. vbxbkx1my23y.jpg

  • Rocking a set of 10s in my garage as well, powered by an old but beautiful Sansui AU-555a. Took my old Sony progressive scan 5-disc DVD player out there too. Don't have the room yet to get the turntable out there...

Currently in the planning stages of re-doing my entire garage and the hifi system will be at the heart of the new setup.

I love seeing these rigs! Monitor 10s in the garage truly rock!
