I have one on a Grace 707 arm. Can't comment on how it would match your gear but its a good cart, good bang for the buck. I just picked up a Denon DL103D so I may be parting with the 110. Its a HOMC so you can use it with your MM setting on your preamp which is nice.

Im interested in hearing if it can improve the shure v15lll with an MR stylus. The shure sounds great so it will be a test for it.

The price has gone up significantly on this, so it pays to shop around.

Needle Doctor has it now for $249. Or takes your chances w/ fleabay.

I'm still running my DL-160 on my 1200mkII that I got new for $150.

Easy, no muss no fuss cartridge to setup and tracks well.

Money is not an issue here as im making a trade deal that is good for me and the original owner of the cartridge. It is just weather it is an upgrade or not, wont really know untill i hear it up against the shure. Just trying to get opinions on the sound quality as dollars are illrelivent.

Well, I don't have direct experience with the DL-110, just the DL-160 that I have now, but have read they are 'cut from the same cloth'....if so, the DL-110 should sound very good indeed!

I've had my ears on a dl301 at a friends system so thats my only exposure to the denon sound, which was a very good experience just hope the 110 is compairable.

I've always been a fan of the V15 III (never heard it with a MR stylus though,) but I've never put it up head to head with the DL110. You shouldn't have any trouble moving a used DL110 so why not give it a shot if you're getting a sweet trade deal. They are both real nice carts, although as mentioned above the new prices are apparently really getting up there.

No experience with that Shure or the Pickering, but I do have a DL-110. I had a hum problem using it with the steel platter of my Music Hall 2.1. Replaced with acrylic and it played very nicely. Tracks well, increased detail and dynamics over the MH Tracker it replaced, and I thought it better than the Goldring 1012 and Shure M97xe as well (all are MM). Not sure how many hours were on the Goldring at the time.

I continue to use the DL-110 on the Music Hall 2.1 in the game room & studio. This turntable probably gets the most traffic of all but is least critical due to the nature of the room and activity. Room is slab, rack is Sanus, stock TT feet, no other isolation, all music but country and rap.

No experience with the Perreaux. I have paired it with several phono preamps including, Bellari VP-530, Project Phono & Tube Box II, Emo and Rotel internal stages, and currently a nice little Lounge LCR (MM only). Never tried with PSAudio or Jolida.

So, no real help at all, other than to say I very much enjoy the DL-110 and will continue to use.

i run it in my pioneer pl 100 and use tu run the shure mx97 before and the dl110 is just leagues ahead. it tracks great and to my ears it just sounds good, makes you enjoy the music. i do not know how to review gear other way as to enjoy it and i enjoy the denon dl110 a lot.

compared to the shure that you mention i have no idea. but you will not regret having it unless the trade is for the shure cartridge which you like.

    good luck

The MR stylus is so far above the sound of the vn or stanard stylus it's not funny much quieter, much more detail and more dynamic. Every thing "they" say about MC cartridges. Soooo it will be interesting to see or hear the differences.

Judging by the only two I've owned or heard, yes. The other is the DL-103r which I absolutely love with the PSA NPC. It seems to me to be a hard-to-beat value among MC's.

Edit: I hope to try the Zu version 103 soon. Dunno how their reworking it affects the relative value, but I'd like to give it a shot. Someone on here uses the Zu and likes it, but I can't remember who.
