Ordered off eBay, received package from Amazon

The item was on both eBay and Amazon and Amazon was slightly cheaper if you have Amazon Prime and free shipping. I don't. I do use my daughter's Prime account occassionally for a movie or tv show, but don't have an account myself, so I ordered off eBay.
Apparently the seller has a Prime account and just put the order in on Amazon and had it shipped directly to me. He only made about $3.00 or so, but really didn't have to do anything more than enter the order online.
Not sure eBay wouldn't frown on this, but hey, pretty smart seller.

So you can take an order on ebay... Ship it from another distributor. Charge the customer on ebay... pay the ebay fees and paypal fees pay the distributor and still make money?

I noticed this dude on ebay doing it called quickshipcharles. Basicaly he was putting up all theclearance gear from musicdirect and adding hundreds lol. He was flogging all kinds of gear and then one day every single add just vanished and he was no more. I hate music direct as Iordered a m1 click and because I was selling a used one they blocked me from buying anything.

I sold thousands of coins on eBay but haven't for several years now. But, back when I did sell on there, drop-shipping was not allowed. It was done all the time, I am sure, but it was listed as prohibited.
As far as my recent purchase goes, the seller immediately gave me positive feedback even before he actually "shipped" it to me. I gave it back to him and mentioned that "the River" did a great job of shipping quickly.
