WHICH WOULD BE BETTER FOR MOVING EQUIPMENT, LONGER IC OR LONGER SPEAKER CABLES?

hey guys,

me again asking. I have two systems as you can see from the description below. I want to move the turntable to a higher more isolated furniture that is about 4 feet from where is sitting now. for this to work I would either move the pre/pro along with the turntable and get longer speaker cables (I have mit either exp1 or exp2, bought a while ago) OR I can move the pre, along with all the 2 channel sources and change the IC for longer ones to the amp and leave the amp where it sits and not change the speaker cables.

which would be a better option? which cable suffers more from distance? speaker or interconnect? my interconnects are a nice "quality" cable from RADIOSHACK, but not the crappy ones that comes with equipment. also can I upgrade the turntable cable fairly easy?, it does comes with the crappy cables.

the distance would require IC of about 8-9 ft if I want to leave the amp and not change the speaker cables, speaker cables I have 10' and think might need to go 12 or 14 if I want to move everything.

considering for interconnect white lightning from dh labs, analog one or 2 from signal, a choice from blujeans and also doug's

thank you all for your opinions I really appreciate all your help.

thanks tony, then whould I take advantage and just upgrade the ic to better ones? I mean speaker cable is good enough. of the choices presented are you familiar with any of them enough that you could steer me in the right direction?

Cables are like ice cream flavors, hard to suggest something without knowing the sound your shooting for. The DH LABS will have a very detailed sound, a tad bit fatiguing on the highs. The Signal and BJ is a good all around cable but doesn't excite one to say "wow that's good". Dougs is also a decent all around cable but they didn't work so well for me in my system....but they have for others.

Given the length you'll require, and possibly budget I'm assuming, Dougs may be your best option unless you can find something used in the lengths you need a few rungs up the ladder.
