A "Prime day" to me is very different. Involves good drink/food, naked woman, sunshine and a beach. Must be a generational thing. :)

I may have to call Shenanigans on Amazon's Prime Day.

Was on Amazon's home page, checking out the Prime Day Lightning Deals, and noticed that they had women's panties half off (Hanes Women's Beauty Of Lace High-Cut Brief Panty 15-Pack for $14.99 !), so I clicked on the link and ........ :(

    1. There were no models displaying half-off panties,
    2. They weren't $14.99, they were $24.00 !

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UJO5E8K?ref_=gb1h_****_m-7_2462_171c7490&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

No way in Hades I'm paying $24.00 for panties, even if they are in a 15-pack.
And Beauty of Lace. And High Cut.

Oh well, I'm going back on Amazon and checking out further items of interest.

So far haven't really seen anything good on their site. Very unimpressed TBH.

Pretty lame "sale" so far. Mostly small junk items, and not that unusual pricing anyway.

It seems to be a more of a "haha made you look" campaign.
Probably organized to try to liquidate inventory for there fiscal year end. There was a big hoopla posted on nearly every news media, and even Wal-mart got on the band wagon.

Was hoping for some deals on 32-42" TV's of a decent brand (ie no Westinghouse, Element, Hiense, etc) or maybe a drop on the Xbox One price.....

    Nope and Nope lol....

Big disappointment. Though it's getting them lots of traffic. Their site is slow as hell. Wonder if they'll actually sell less today, since the slowness of the site might keep people away.

It appears there is a promo code to purchase digital music albums for $4.99, but I can not get it to work. This sale is obviously a ploy to unload obsolete and overstocked inventory. Not a bad price on the fire tv stick though.

I just noticed that they are offering new deals throughout the day, they will be offering a sale price on the Optima HD projector in about 40minutes. I am curious about that, as it retails for $1k.

I made a small list of items yesterday to check on today with my Prime Account.

Lot's of people hitting the servers, I got some server errors before I could check on some of the items I was interested in.

    No change in price.

    Pass.

The big let-down across the web is that most everything really did not drop in price just because of the hype for today.

Big let down as far as I'm concerned, could not find a good deal worthy of getting, us prime members deserve better. I did not leave the site with out a purchase, after multiple visits without finding a deal.

I broke down and preordered one of the new Zeppelin remasters no deal on that purchase, they lured us in knowing most of us would of purchased something anyways. It's kind of like the stores still having thier 4th of July sales once you show up there is nothing to be found, and the 4th has already come and gone. I do have a balance of $7.20 worth of prime points :*

I don't know what the price was before, but when I posted it, it was a little below $300. I see it has now gone up to $370.

I downloaded several albums to my Prime Music account for free. They were probably free before today, but I don't know for sure. Agree with most though, nothing special that I came across today. This could backfire on Amazon since they built it up so much. I'd say it was a significant disappointment.

It was a liquidation marketing ploy. Most corp retail fiscal year ends and inventory are August.

I received 3 times spam in the barracuda spam in filter the last 2 days than I usually do.

It was smart with free advertisement in the media with Amazon and Wal-mart crying wolf...then others followed

Best deal that I saw was a $3000 4K TV for $999 but it was sold out before I found it. Huge disappointment and they were apparently criticized heavily on Twitter and elsewhere. Walmart actually had better offers.

Wal-Mart was said to have cleaned Amazons clock yesterday.
