Wow we are really losing a lot of the older generation of actors. First Sir Patrick Macnee 93, and now Omar Sharif 83 died today.

About the last one left that made it big with American audiences is Sir Roger Moore still going at the age of 87.

    Thank you for posting this Cathy. What an awesome actor of film stage, tv, he could do it all. Made so many huge films in the 60's and 70's. He was still working til his death. I read where he was a world class bridge player also. The great ones are leaving us, R.I.P. Omar

    Heard it on NPR yesterday -- I am still surprised to hear/read that he was that young; I'd have thought him to be ca. a decade older.

    Oh that's right, Sir Sean Connery is also still going strong at 84. Unfortunately, he has retired from acting.
