Hey guys,
I currently have a pioneer PL-100 semiautomatic turntable which is in a goot working order (nothing to go crazy over) have a denon dl-110 cartridge on it and it sound pretty good. I keep reading that all the electronic components that these type of turntables have take away from the sound quality.
so because of this, curiosity and of course looks I feel like updating/upgrading? the table, I have looked at the project debut carbon, the rm 1.3 carbon and music hall 2.2. so lets say that I have a budget of between 350 and 500.
will any of these tables sound BETTER than mine? I worry that the headshell is fixed on these and that my denon dl-110 might not work on them properly ( I love this cartridge). but if some of you guys have any experience with any of these and have used the denon cartridge with them, please please let me know if the sound would be should be better than in the pioneer.
if these are not an upgrade then which should be my starting point to HEAR the next level.
the table would be connected to my rotel pre/pro combo (which have a great phono section IMO) to the kef r300 or occasionally on the Marantz 2285b.
thank you and best regards,
Eduardo

I'd also look at the Rega RP-1; Regas "budget" tables are hard to beat.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2
