Dared SL2000A with Rectifiers and Tubes

I purchased this on the flea market a few months back and finally got around to opening the box and getting the tubes tested last week. I intended to spend some time looking for the right vintage amp to mate with this Dared for my vinyl rig, but decided to go a different (and unfortunately much more expensive :)) direction over the weekend.

Dared SL 2000A
Great condition - ships in the original box with original tubes, remote, and power cord. I plugged it in for about 10 minutes with stock tubes - everything lights up as expected, but I don't have an amp to check it any further. Previous owners left it with great reviews and I don't see any reason to believe it should perform any differently - if there are any issues upon arrival, we can discuss repair/return. (recent similar used sell for around $320)

Tube List (test numbers included)
United Electron. 85/93 and 70/78. (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $5)
Valvo..copper grid halo 68/70 and blown.
Amperex 55/63 and 87/93. (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $20)
GE 66/85 and 75/85. (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $5)
Siemens 68/73 and 78/92. (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $5)

You could combine the strong United and Amperex for a good pair. All boxes are labeled as tested.

Rectifiers
Bendix 6106 couldn't test, but it looks good (for what it's worth according the audio shop guy :)), (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $35)
5z46 (cool big bottle) tests strong 80/90, (recent similar strong NOS sell for around $100)
Philips 5y3wgta test strong 90/90,(recent similar strong NOS sell for around $30)

Total value here is about $520, but I'm too lazy to list everything separately. How about $400 shipped for the entire package?

If it's still around in a few weeks, I'll consider separating everything. Thanks guys!

Updated with some pictures. I'll throw in an Orbitrac 2 as well - the dog chomped a bit on the case, but never figured out how to get to the goods inside.

I'll list this on the bay if it's still around in a few weeks.

    Thanks!

    Do you still have this?

Sorry - no, this is gone. I opted not to split everything up given the overall lack of interest. The Dared turned out to have some other issues as well, so it's probably for the best to be outside of the forum family :).

So sorry to hear this szhleppy, so many here have a Dared unit and seem to like them. What did you go with to replace it?

I never got around to hooking the Dared up - I purchased it primarily because of the tubes that were included, but quickly lost interest after getting the tubes tested and realized that most were on their last leg.

My pre right now is pretty much an unknown brand that I picked up at a local audio store here in Austin - Brown Audio Labs. From what I understand, he's a somewhat local guy that builds preamps (...and now getting ready to release an amp as well) in between hunting and fishing excursions - for now, seems to do most of his business on ebay. I've been pretty happy with it, but the star of that rig is still the Usher speakers I picked up from Doro a few years ago.

I had to do a quick search here to see what I have - turns out they are the X-718's and I purchased them from Montoya (who did originally get them from Doro).

Thanks for posting the link for the get together - great to see so many local Polkies! I've only been to one local get together, which was back in my AZ days - Steve hosted a fun blowout at his place where I had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife along with Bizill and Wes from Tucson. Unfortunately I have a volunteer commitment for the October get together date (ALS Walk in Austin), but will keep an eye out for the next one!
