Nascar.....watch the start, take a long nap, wake up with 10 minutes left, watch the train wreck at the end and you've seen the race.

Thank goodness the catch fence did its job.

Watched the whole race last night, something I don't usually do , but this one was pretty exciting. Austin Dillon's wreck on the final lap probably had a few drivers see their life flash before their eyes. Nothing short of a miracle kept the #3 car of Dillon's suspended airborne long enough as it hit the fence to keep from dropping down in front of a number of cars doing over 180+ mph. Most racers had passed underneath the #3 car within that split second of time. When Dillon's car landed on it's side, then flipped upside down, it then got hit by the #2 car who was locked up, sliding sideways and hit the end of the #3 car. Thank God no one was killed and the 5 spectators who got hit by flying debris, weren't injured badly.

Yep, I couldn't sleep due to taking an evening nap. I am amazed nobody died.

Safety has come a long ways in the past several years.

Is that the same spot that Montoya hit the track drying vehicle and started the fire?

Speedskater, I wasn't much for watching Nascar back when Montoya was in it, maybe someone else remembers this one.

It looks like the 2012 crash and big jet fuel fire were farther past the grandstands.

Not a huge NASCAR fan, but just watched this video. It is truly amazing that Dillon WALKED away from that crash. My line of work involves highway safety, and it is quite impressive how far we've come with safety in the past 10-20 years both on AND OFF the track.

They had the same kind of crash Thursday evening at the truck race in Kentucky.

Yes, Ben Kennedy walked away from the wreck. But the catch fence was so damaged that they didn't restart the race. There were only a few laps left.
