Really I do. After 20 years the forum is still consumed with an extinct speaker AND it is yet a different group of people than those talking about it last time and the time before that and the time before that... That should be a wakeup call.

You really mean, is Micah reading this.....he's the only "active" member aside from the kick-**** Troubleshooting crew.
Polk Audio is not a trend setter in the marketing department. There are GREAT ideas in there that I am sure just need to be implemented, but they don't do it, because Polk is complacent. Why ruin a good thing, I guess. They barely run ads....they are barely involved with third party display....they don't push their product, period. It's all name driven sales...that's sad, because that is exactly where the respect for a product is lost.
Car Audio is the exception, because of the profile. They can constantly establish market impact with car shows and ads, but it isn't the same animal with home gear. You and I may go to a home audio demo, but really....how many people are freaks like us? Consider that, in the capitalist approach....never gonna happen.
I would love to see new SDA's, and I would certainly consider buying them. I would hope that Polk stop **** around, and market the **** out of the new line, to include potential SDA's. I wouldn't want them to assault their marketbase with a new product....
POLK : Do you know what you sell anymore? Do you care? Why don't you establish a home audio marketing campaign? Why don't you run ads like Paradigm....Infinity...Definitive Technology....I know for a fact you can compete in those brackets. It's getting a little frustratiing for the core Polk fanbase to see constant non-interest.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Maybe the RTi150 and 12 are guinea pigs to see if people will buy BIG Polk speakers, and then they'll bring out the SDA. Who knows. There are planty of forum members including me who will buy new SDA if Polk makes them again.

There is an SDA hint on the near future horizon....but this is a barely active forum, if you look at it number wise.
Why would they listen to us? The real people are here, the fanatics are here....the crazy people are here....it's just getting old to respond and get no involvement.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I'd like to see it happen, but I'd be really surprised if it happens. Sure there are a lot of people on this forum that are SDA fans, but who's to say that there are enough potential customers to make it a profitable speaker line. For those of you old enough to remember the initial SDA producr lines, remember that a lot of audiophiles considered them a gimmick and not worth a serious audition. I worked with a bunch of stereo geeks in the 80's and they all thought I was nuts for buying SDA's. Perhaps the speakers were ahead of their time way back then.
It boils down to simple economics. Can a new SDA line be manufactured at a low enough cost, and sold at a high enough price, in significant volume to make it a profitable venture? I really don't know, but hopefuly the answer is yes and Polk will start a Beta Test Program and a few lucky Polkies will be asked to participate. Maybe that would be a bad idea...I don't think we'd be too objective. -
I'd be willing to be a test marketing guinea pig...:D

Put my name on that list for sure, we need to get the word out to as many as possible somehow to get them interested enough in this technology to help falcilitate polk to move back in the direction of sda. I know that there has to be other sda heads out there that are looking at this forum and lurking about as a guest on the boards. If you are lurking (and you know who you are) please join in and help us out........Please?"Its worked so far but we're not out yet."

Hmmmm very interesting thought...
I would be a proud owner of a brand new pair of SDA's. Can I start making payments now Polk?
