Vibrapods for the TT

I have "raised floors" not a slab. I think I should set the TT on the Vibrapods, my floor bounces. Are there any other worthwhile points to use vibration isolation?

    What TT do you have?

A Teac TN-300. The shelf I have really resonates with the floor it is sitting on.

No No No not mine just a goggle image. zqkykh1al1b3.gif

All kidding aside if foot falls are a problem you should look into a wall mounted shelf.

Not an option. I have the shelf right in between the center channel and the right main. At least is is a few feet from the sub. I just wanted to know how the vibrapods work for others. If I have to make a "Dagwood" vibrapod sammich, that's what I will have to do lol

Hard to see but I've got a vibrapod sandwich myself. Makes a huge difference and the more sets the better.

What all exactly is between the TT and the counter?

And I have one set under the whole entertainment stand.

I understand it's $100, but the difference was incrementally better with each set.

Ya'll watch what those Vibrapods come in contact with as they will leave permanent slime marks.

@F1nut What would be a budget vibration control product that you would recommend? i.e. Doesn't leave marks on anything.

Very good point. If you have something that you don't want marked up, use a little piece of black paper or something between it and your equipment.

Yaknow, some turntables do have decent isolation built in. I know my Debut Carbon doesn't seem to attract vibration noises and it's fairly close to a SDA speaker...

My problem was with footfalls. If someone would walk across the living room in front of the TT, I would most likely get a skip. After the 4 layers of vibrapods...we can walk, dance, jump with no skips.

An alternative to vibrapods are sorbothane balls from Amazon. I found them to accomplish the same thing and they are a bit cheaper.

Pay attention to both products as there are different densities for different weights supported.
