Stands/Tables for My Gear!

Hey all, not sure if the clubhouse is place to ask, but here goes. I am now looking to set my amp, streamer that is stacked on my pre with a small table that in meant to hose audio gear. Also plan on getting a nice CD player at some point (another thread for that when I'm ready) so looking to see what some of you may suggest. Right now I have a small RTA tv stand where my amp in on that top with no restrictions then in a center section the streamer sits on top of my pre. Time for a change, and not even sure if there is any benefit to the sound by doing this. but looking to do it for more of a cosmetic change! Appreciate suggestions and idea for anyone who gets it......right now I sure don't! Thanks and hope all stay safe this week.

Johnny...... either spend the cash on something like a Salamander Archtype stand (I have one and its by far the best rack I've owned) but only get black or be prepared to pay out the rear....

    3F5FA7B2-EA6B-435D-B21F-0A173E6C14EF.jpg

They also make smaller ones like the Archtype 3.0 and 2.0, but the 5.0 is the best bargain IMHO. Otherwise you can connect them to each other so you can run a 3.0 with a 2.0 side by side if needed (like the pictures below) which would be another option, but again I just think with what your running the 5.0 would give you all the shelves you need for now (with some removed since you dont need all of them) and ability to add on later....

    OR

BUILD a Flexy Rack. Same thing as the Archtype just you have to build it all yourself and your possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Its basically threaded rod with shelves you build to your specs... so you can add more shelves, more sections as needed.....

LOL... if your talking about the first picture I posted, then those are moving men so I can pull it out and back easily, that rack when weighed down is like 250 lbs, and the feet are NOT meant to slide lol.... I was waiting for the casters I ordered to come in so now my rack is on wheels......

I dunno if I'd want to put my gear on something meant to hose it. But yeah, I've got some salamander stuff. It ain't bad.

Built myself two flexy racks - work like a charm and they are short money! You can also gussy them up pretty well if you like. Mine are plain jane.

    ^ I'm b u t t h u r t @DSkip

How dare you poke fun at me

VTI is nice. I got this rack for 150 and it's all I need.

I will be likely hitting Skip up for a new HT Salamander Synergy Triple 30 or 20 in the next year or so...

@DSkip can you get "parts" for Salamander Synergy? I have a Synergy 236 and I need one regular shelf and I'd like to ditch the drawer in the middle and put in a shelf that slides out for my turntable.

For something a little outside the ordinary, I ordered this through etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/219233236/reclaimed-wood-media-console-tv-stand?ref=shop_home_active_12

I ordered a custom size for a little more, 60x20x28. There is a 10in sub hidden behind the slatted door. And best thing for me and the wife is that it doesn't look like a audio cabinet...

sorry for the crappy iphone pic, but you get the idea. 0bmm1iwbxe12.jpg

Thats awesome! If only I had that little of gear lol......

I was wanting to build something along those lines for my rack, but for the price I found my Salamander for, well I couldn't even get material bought for less

But MAN ON MAN does that look sexy!

Thanks Dan! Me and the misses sure do like it.

In regards to the gear, yea I did buy both the slimline marantz and the sub specifically to fit in that cabinet without making it onerous, and then I special ordered the cabinet.

And in regards to building it, I don't think money would be the issue. This is made out of reclaimed wood, and I just built a pretty sweet coffee table out of pallets for the living room, and the wood looks pretty similar, and it cost about 30 bucks in materials :D BUT, the coffee table took me at least 25-30 hours just because taking apart and sanding old pallets takes FOR-E-VERRRRR! Plus I don't really have the skills for the cabinet, so it would either take me a really long time or it would've turned out fugly, so we decided I would built some other things and we would bite the bullet on this one...plus the coffee table doesn't have the steel hairpin legs, and those buggers are expensive. I just bought 8 to built two "matching" nightstands for the bedroom and they cost over $100, so that would increase the cost of the media center I suppose...

    Sorry didn't mean to derail...

I just got it. It took longer to unpack than to put together, seems pretty sturdy. Makes me happy, now I can get my center off of the bottom shelf of the TV stand and hear it the right way.
