So I own the 95, 105, and just received the 105D yesterday..
A couple months ago I purchased a 78" Samsung 4K Curved TV, in my HT room I have the 95, and in my 2 Channel I have the 105. Well I put my 105 in my HT and found myself liking it better.
So it got me thinking about the 105D, and put the 95 in my bedroom or sell it. But I'm looking forward to playing the 105 for a few then put in the 105D and see if there is really that much of a difference..
I have read that you will see the difference on the larger TV's better but we will see, the picture quality is so amazing with my setup now I personally don't see how it could get any better with this BDP but I will find out soon enough..
Either way I will be happy with the 105 in my 2C and the 105D in my HT...
I will update after this weekend

Just hook up your 105 in your 2 Channel, and your 105D in tour HT, you can run with the Darbe on our off or adjust it to the level you prefer you will notice the difference with it on or off. In other words you won't have to hook them both up side by side to make that comparison. I think your going to enjoy your 105D congratulations.Home Theater

There should be a test pattern on the 105d showing you half the screen with no darbee and on the other half being on with controls over the level and effect. I know what you are thinking but wait till you see the picture with darbee, not only is sharpness great but everything seems 3d like the contrast has improved.

Darbee is over rated, IMO it makes everything look weird, 3D is much better..

If your running it full pop everything looks unnatural to me, run the Darbee setting about 25 %- 35% that's the setting I'm comfortable with, what do you have it set at when running darbee?Home Theater

Works best for me set around 20 to 25. Adds a subtle clarity that way. I miss it if it is turned off as the picture looks a little blurry without it turned on. I don't see it as a 3d type of effect.

I got that 3d kind of thing on one movie so far. I probably said it before but it reminds me of the 4K demo they were running in best buy.

Is the 105 available anymore? My local dealer told me it has been discontinued and only 105D is offered. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these. My good old reliable 93 has served a little over 4 years on my house.2 channel:

The original 105 model without the Darbee circuit is no longer available from Oppo. The 105D is available in black or silver. The 103 and 103D are still both available.

Absolutely. It's just sharpness, contrast, and saturation, labeled as fancy tech. Absolutely nothing more. -

I have a fully moded oppo 105D done by Joe Rasmussen JLTI is his motto JUST LISTEN TO IT.I have a epson EH-WT9000 transparent premium HDMI with a 100"screen and everyone that has seen the Darbee going likes it better than without! ,3d looks incredible,I have it set to 85%.
I have read the bigger the screen the better the picture. -

Adding saturation and contrast to any image will make it look better to untrained eyes, which is what Darbee does. It's easy to overdo it which most people naturally get. Once an image starts looking like CandyLand (i.e., to much Darbee), people usually back off.
My point is there is no magic. If you'd like the same effect, go into your TV's built in color profile and manually add more saturation and contrast. That's all Darbee is doing.
