I have a blown woofer.
Dynavox is a bust. They aren't making them anymore.
eBay has one guy selling pairs but he's unresponsive on questions.
I also have to replace SL2000s.
When it rains it pours.

There was a member over on the DIYaudio forum that was selling 6 of those woofers pretty cheap. Not sure if the ad is still up. Think it was a few weeks ago when I saw it.--Gary--

Yeah, 200 units, week of July 27th. That's it.
I'd need to replace all 8 for that woofer to work and rewire the speaker load as the honeycombs are 4 ohms each and that one is 16 ohms. I would have to rewire the woofer load to present a 4 ohm load to the crossover...if I could...or, find or build Platinum crossovers for my non-Platinum Amazings.

4x16ohm woofers wired in parallel = 4ohm load. You're golden!

I was thinking that he could just parallel a high rated ;-) noninductive 5-ish (5.333) ohm power resistor with a 16 ohm replacement woofer's VC to get a net nominal 4 ohm load for the replacement driver.
This hack would have some effects on the T-S parameters of the replacement, but close enough is probably close enough with all them OB woofers floppin' around.

John, sorry I didn't realize you needed the honeycomb version.
Did you note this at the bottom of the honeycomb page?Special Note - This is an end of life product. There're only a few left with cosmetic blemish(light scratch on the honeycomb disk). However, a new version is in development and will be available in 2015. New version will also be a direct replacement driver w/o the honeycomb design. All the mechanical and electrical specification and performance will be maintained except the cosmetic look: paper cone vs. honeycomb disk. I was thinking resistors or wiring the woofers in parallel but after looking at the crossover schematic, I'm not 100% sure that will fly with the way the crossovers are set up.
I don't know that the T/S parameters would make that much of a difference. The voicing would be off but they are woofers and don't play over 100 Hz I believe it is. So they wouldn't color the sound the much. Still, if I could find a replacement, that would be ideal.
