703 Speaker Stand Height
I have been using a standard VTI 28" inch stand from my HT for some time now. I keep coming back to the conclusion that a 24"'stand would be better suited for these larger bookshelf speakers, mainly because when I stand up or sit up higher, they sound better than in a sitting or lounging position. Anyone else find this or using a 24"'stand?

For me it depends on seating height. I have used them with both 24 and 28 inch stands. The tweeter location in the cabinet is unusual in that it is not at the top. The tweeter height in relation to the normal ear level when listening is the main consideration for me. Where I have mine set up now 24 inch stands work best because the sofa seating height matches up best. In another room where I have a reclining sofa which sits higher by a couple inches the 28 inch stands work better.

I have mine on 26" stands and it seems to be at the perfect height for me. You just have to sit in your listening position and measure where your ear level is.Anaheim Hills CA,

My buddy stands are 24" & I thought the 28" version would have been better for his 703's ....BTW I have the 703's at my house this weekend and he bought them using my F&F Code and now want to sell them to me for $650 as he just prefers his Vintage Polk RTA12's & he has RTiA9's in his HT setup.

My generic stands are at 24" (not one shown. This was perfect until I got my 7s and then they filled the void. I did put the 7s on 2" high pavers which work great and the 8"1/2" and
all woofers are not blocked by them. Garage sale $5 for both stands. Once he heard them with my Vincent gear and my Cables he had a second though! If I did they would only replace RTiA7's in their HT role. he just needs to treat them with some better gear.
He has the Pangea stands, which are 24" tall and I helped him coat them inside with some dynamat xtreme to take that hollow ringing sound out of them. They work good at 24" and are nicely heavy but I still think if it was me I'd get some 28" ... maybe...2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge
