I like it... I would be happy with a 1050When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I had an older Aventage and it was a very good AVR. Then I moved up to the Marantz 7008 and just having the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 alone made it a big improvement over the Yamaha.
I could never get that YPAO dialed in right.Anaheim Hills CA,

I have the Aventage 1010 and it suits me just fine. I think you would be satisfied with it, or the Marantz equivalent. They both are among the finest IMO.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Getting ahead of myself. The emo needs a new home, it should work in the bedroom it is pretty plush

I'd personally buy a used 2040 or 2030 instead and save a boat load of cash but that's just me.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Hello Afterburnt,
I have the 2040 and after reading the specs on the 2050 I would have to agree with nightfall save some cash and go with the 2040.
It is a stunning AVR does everything well and the user interface between the iso remote app and the AVR makes it a pleasure to use.
As for the onboard DAC I like the sound so much I disconnected my Cambridge dacmagic.
Cheers

but what about dts-x?

Hello Afterburnt,
I just done some reading on the DST-X format it sounds interesting, currently there's one movie with the DST-X format or at least that all I could find.
I was just passing on my finding with the Yammy 2040,but if you're going chase after the newest tech.. well rock on and enjoy.
Cheers

Atmos is much more of a popular standard than DTS:X at this point.
I went from an Aventage RX-A1000 which I absolutely adored but wouldn't pass 4k content to a Denon X4100 and am never looking back. The LEAP forward that XT32 has over YPAO is very surprising to say the least. Surround effects are much better, sub integration is far more seamless and YPAO *never* gave me a virtually flat in room response the way that XT32 has.
I loved my Yamaha...I love my Denon way more."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Not sure if this is correct. I heard that dts:x movies the voice dialog can be adjusted. Is that true? Thought I saw that statement on a onkyo tx-rz800 ad. But then again their is only one movie with dts:x.

Dunno but my Yamaha RXA1040 has dialog adjustments.

You are correct BlueFox, Ex Machina is the first movie to be released in DTS:X .

Ohhh. Do I win a prize.
I noticed that on the screen, but didn't really register that it might be something new. It seemed okay on my 5.1 HT, but need to reverify that tonight. This isn't really a movie with sound effects, as it is mostly dialogue.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
