Blown driver

First I would like to thank everyone here for the responses on previous questions I have posted. You have given me the education and confidence to finally jumped into my SDA 1's that I bought two years ago. I installed my Speakon connectors and built my interconnect cable and have the speakers connected to my HK Citation receiver, finally!
One of the base drivers sounded "funky". I pulled it and it has a scraping sound upon pushing the cone in and out. Am I to assume that it is blown? If so are all the base drivers similar? I checked the "handbook" and all the drivers are listed as 6 1/2 inch tri laminate polymer bass midrange drives of 4 ohms. It has a number in the face-SR 142117 and no other identifying info. EBay has several listed as MW 6501, are these the same drivers?

    Bass, not base.

There should be a paper label on the back of the driver with the model number. Anyway, if yours are the SDA 1 or SDA 1A then all the drivers are MW6501's.

Thank you. There is a gray disc on the back, but no model number. They are SDA 1's dated Sept., 1982.

So, none of the mid-drivers have a label on them? That's highly unusual.

I checked all the drivers. They have a gray paper disc on the backs with some markings but no model number or anything useful, checking eBay for something compatible.

The drivers are naked on the backs and the paper discs which I assume are from the drivers were on the bottom of the cabinet

Now that I am looking at the photos close up, I can see MW6600X. Need to put on the reading glasses!

Happens to the best of us. :)

That driver is no longer available from Polk. You'll have to check eBay for a replacement.

Picked one up off eBay, just waiting for it to be delivered. After a little listening, I will have to figure my next upgrade.
