Onkyo PR SC5507 Pre/Pro in Atlanta

Hi guys,

Great controller at a great price. This is my third Onkyo controller with no issues ever. While waiting for the Emotiva XMC-1, I bought a PR-SC885...then a PR-SC 886...then this unit. Upgraded to a new Onkyo unit, so this one is for sale. Never did buy an XMC-1, though....

It feeds a couple Sherbourn amps into my 9.2 setup. I use all the channels, including height channels. Everything works. This version of Audyssey allows two sub channels, which is why I upgraded to it from the 886. Its been in a climate controlled ventilated rack in my dedicated home theater since new, and hasn't been moved since. Non-smoking home. Remote was only used for setup duties. I take really good care of my HT gear, and have been a forum member since forever. My eBay ID is "rtinatl" with over 300 transactions since 1999. Never a negative. I've bought and sold a lot of gear on this forum over the years, all with happy results.

All accessories, remote, microphone, manuals and original box included. Heres' a link to the data sheet: www.eu.onkyo.com/downloads/1/1/6/3/2/ONKYO_PR-SC5507_datasheet_EN.pdf

I'm thinking $650 shipped in CONUS is about right. I'll pay the PayPal fees, per PP rules. Local pickup in Atlanta area preferred, and I'll adjust the shipping of course.

If you would like pix, let me know. It looks just like every other unit, though, and I'm not a great photographer.

I could be up for interesting trades...what do you have?

This is available once again...upgraded to a 5508...for no really good reason other than it was a good deal.

For those of you who are familiar, some Onkyo AVRs and controllers have had issues with bad HDMI boards. The 5507 seems to have been mostly immune, but Onkyo has recently agreed to replace bad HDMI boards in these units for free through the end of 2018. Here's the link with all the info: http://www.uk.onkyo.com/en/articles/customer-care-program-119261.html

I used the program for my 5508, and it took about a week and a half to send it out and get it back. After signing up using the S/N, they send you a box with packing materials (even a roll of tape) and prepaid shipping label. Pack it up, send it to them and you'll get it back in about ten days. No receipt, proof of purchase, or any other documentation required. They pay for shipping both ways.

BTW, this unit is covered by the program, but works great and has never had a hiccup of any kind. Even so, I entered the S/N to verify. I'll provide the S/N to a potential buyer for them to verify for themselves. Basically, all covered Onkyo gear has a 3.5 year warranty covering the HDMI board, which is the major component of this unit.

The 5507 is a great unit, and is very capable. I was happy with it, and only upgraded to the 5508 get the Audyssey XT32 capability, which has little impact on the actual sound quality.

I got a good deal on my new 5508, and thought I would share my good fortune by passing along a good deal on the 5507.

    As always, interesting trades considered.
