Any of you Rush fans check out all of the Remasters that are coming out during 2015? If so what are your thoughts, have you compared them to the originals?

Hope these help, you might need quite a bit of time to read through them.

I bought the new 2015 vinyl versions of A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres.
Both perfectly flat and dead quiet.
It was my first buy of AFTK so nothing really to compare it to.
Both AFTK and Hemispheres sound very good - clear sonics, good mix top to bottom.
From what I understand the same digital mix/master that was used for the CDs and hi-res downloads were used for the lp.
And that is kinda what I hear on the lp - a really really good CD.
When I compared my original LP release of Hemispheres to the new 2015 version, there is an audible different to me. I can't quite get a handle on it other than to say despite my original LP being slightly warped, some ticks and pop - it sounds 'blacker' or 'organic' than the new version.
I'm still in for the 2015 Moving Pictures as I bought the Blu Ray version and did not like it at all - way too bright and brittle for my tastes.
In my collection the Audio Fidelity version of MPs is 'the best'....for now.
The Steve Hoffman links above are a good read - and most everyone is actually very pleased with all the new releases up to now. The problems mostly center on the LPs being delivered - dished or warped. But sonically - very good.
There you have it - fwiw.

I have all of them released so far and think they sound great. There is some difference in sound between the originals and remasters. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different. Both the originals and remasters sound excellent. It is nice to have shiny new pristine records however. One thing that I absolutely love about the remasters is the quality of the inner sleeve, a really nice Mo-Fi style/quality sleeve. The quality of the remasters in general from pressing and vinyl quality to the jackets and sleeves is excellent. If you're a Rush fan they are no brainers.

2112 is one of my favorites, look forward to your impressions if you remember and have the time.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I'll only add that I bought Fly By Night BlueRay because I gave up
waiting to find a nice vinyl copy and like it a lot. Turned it to 11
and whipped out the air guitar and raccoon tail. -
Just picked up Permanent Waves the other day. So far this is the best sounding one of the bunch. Can't wait to hear Moving Pictures!
