The Gem Dandy is made by Merrill-Williams, it is indeed and entry level product when compared to their main table http://www.realturntable.com/options-accessories.html

I don't think that price includes a Tonearm either, just the table and platter.

I didn't know that - and that's well above my pay grade - but then so is the "entry level" version for that matter. At least until kids are out of college or something. Heck, by then my hearing probably won't be good enough to appreciate it LOL anymore with my luck!

I also noted the 15% off I referenced, does not apply to TT - so that's a straight up $1500. Would love to have a rig like that someday.

Yep, The price of Vinyl Playback is not cheap....if you're looking for a quality table.

We just moved to a College town and the cost of Vinyl is out of control, I've all but quite shopping.

For that kind of money -- I'd look pretty hard at the VPI Scout Jr. (FWIW).

(just a sample listing, no endorsement of the vendor implied)

EXACTLY. That would be my pick in the $1500 range.
