I just received a brand new pair of Koss Pro4-AAs from Koss.
After 40 years my pair dropped a channel so I emailed them for their return procedure to see if they could be repaired. They said that they did not have the parts to repair my set but would send me a new pair! All it cost me was a little correspondence time and a $9 check for return shipping.
Talk about customer service!

did they send you a new/refurbed pair of Pro4-AAs? or something more current?I disabled signatures.

WOW. Unheard of for such an old product. Let us know what new replacement product you receive. Obviously it never hurts to ask. Congrats to you for your effort.
EDIT: I went to the Koss website and in the reviews for the current 4AA reviewers stated these were guaranteed for life and others have had their old ones replaced. -
Brand new Pro4-AA V2. They look slightly different than the originals so I guess V2 stands for version 2.Mojo Audio Illuminati v3>>Quantum Byte w/LMS>>Rpi/PiCoreplayer>> Starlight 7 USB >> Mojo Audio Mystique v2 SE>>ModWright SWL 9.0 SE Signature>>Hafler DH-500 Amp+ (Musical Concepts Fully Modded)>>

Same with the porta pro. I had a set from the 80's in the 90's the wires got goofy and they sent me a new set. Around 2005 same thing and a few months ago, same thing except the price went from 7$ to 9$. I have been a big koss fan for years. They stand in front and behind their products.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Makes me wish I had done the same when my good 1977 pair went bad from extensive use. I thought after 20 yrs they might laugh me off the phone.

They would not have. It is amazing they still are making the same products from years ago. I think the porta pro hasnt changed since the 80's. They have made some slight improvements on some of them. Just shows how good they were back in the day. Heck for a long time ( 70's) I recall the Pro AAA was the headset to beat.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Porta-pros, awesome for what they are. Lifetime warranty, not kidding. I recommended a set of the ones the OP has to a friend 20 years ago and he's still rocking them.Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
