I have a pair of LSi15's on the way. I am reading on this forum that they are power hungry. My amp(HALO A52) generates 225 watts into 4ohms. I know that is within the printed polk Specs for this speaker, but, I want the opinion of a private owner. Also, what watts they use to feed the LSi15's. I will trust my ears when I listen to them, just want to hear from you all.

FWIW, I'm using an Outlaw 7100 7 channel amp that cranks out a measely 165wpc with all channels driven. It's more than adequate for me.

I use to drive my LSi 15'2 with a denon avr 2400. On the 2400 they sounded pretty good. The 2400 pushes 85 watts @ 4 ohms I think. I then switched to an outlaw 755 which pushes 300 @ 4 ohms. I could tell a big diference in the different amps. The biggest difference came in the lower end of the sound spectrum. It was very much improved with the outlaw. so........ just my expirence.

    Hi,

I drive my 15's with the Marantz SR-9200 Receiver. I getting roughly 225+ watts into 4 ohms. Although I would have preferred to drive them with larger separate amps, I just honeslty don't have the physical room. I'm very happy with the Marantz. I don't feel it is anemic. I've also noticed that these speakers really seem to bloom with break in period. I'm really enjoying them more these days.

What was the break-in period for yours?

    Hi,

I would say it took roughly a year. I have other sound systems in other rooms so I don't listen exclusively to these speakers, so no doubt the break in period took longer for me. It's just that lately they have been sounding quite exceptional and I haven't made any changes to the system set up. However, I will be adding a Denon DVD-5900 universal player to the mix tomorrow evening. That should shake things up a bit. I'm really looking forward to tinkering around with SACD's and DVD-A formats. Great fun!!
