Looks like Nightwish will be releasing an SACD hybrid of their 'From Wishes to Eternity' concert which was also released on DVD.

Looks like I have an excuse to get an SACD player now:D.

Here's the news from the official website:
Drakkar Records will release Nightwish's "From Wishes To Eternity" live-album as SACD on march 1st. It will be a hybrid disc which can also be played on normal CD-players but of course you need an SACD-player to get the full quality. The instrumental song "Crimson Tide/Deep Blue Sea" and "FantasMic" had to be removed from the tracklist to fit the concert on the disc.
Here is the final tracklist:
1. The Kinslayer
2. She Is My Sin
3. Deep Silent Complete
4. The Pharaoh Sails To Orion
5. Come Cover Me
6. Wanderlust
7. Swanheart
8. Elvenpath
9. Dead Boy's Poem
10. Sacrament Of Wilderness
11. Walking In The Air
12. Beauty & The Beast
13. Wishmaster

There's nothing offensive about nightwish. It's not black or death metal. It's power metal but I prefer to call it dream metal:).

Don't you have a Nightwish CD? I remember you complaining about the horrible production. I'm guessing you got either 'Angels Fall First' or 'Oceanborn'? Those are their worst sounding albums but the others are spectacular.

Hmmmmm. I guess you're right. But the music is sooo beautiful. Angels is probably their worst album. It was their first too. You gotta try 'Wishmaster' and 'Century Child'. Doesn't sound anything like Angels. More metal, operatic and epic with clarity and dynamics that will shake your balls.

There was no reason for them to remove any songs to make this album fit on one disc. The Police LIVE SACD has 145 minutes on one disc, and the Deep Purple LIVE AT THE BBC has 96 minutes on one disc. I think that the theoretical limit of the SACD layer is something like 180 minutes of 2 channel only, and 112 minutes of multi channel.

As a note: The Deep Purple disc is a dual layered hybrid, and the CD layer is missing a couple of songs which are included on the SACD layer.
