For whatever reason, I cannot connect to other audio sites, Amazon, CNN, etc., but Polk still works. Usually, it is all or nothing.

Don't knock the covers. They probably took 2 weekends of design planning and laser cutting. BF, you can't dim or turn off the lights? If it bothered me that much, I'd probably pull out the bulbs.

LOL. They arrived on a Saturday, and I set them up as soon as I could. As the sun went down, and it got darker, the meter lights got brighter. I felt as if I was looking at a car coming at me. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn them off, and that first night I did a quick measurement, cut out two pieces of cardboard, and have been happy ever since, which will be two years this July. Since I mostly use these amps at night and in the dark, the cardboard doesn't bother me. I do take them out when I use the system during the day, or with company, but for serious Friday and Saturday nights they are in place.

This is actually a good example of how mood can affect sound. With the cardboard in place, I am happy and the music sounds good. With the cardboard out I am irritated and can't listen to the music.

Oh meters...I love meters...nothin nicer than dancing needles like how I make the tach in my truck work for it's keep :)

You do not want to see those meters dance. Normally the meters never move, and they don't move to the right side until current really increases, and you are in the danger zone. When I broke my speakers both meters were bouncing in the danger zone.

Whew...glad it got fixed. I didn't really want to take the amps, but if the universe was saying so...who am I?

Are you telling us that there is no such thing as an AUDIOPHILE BLIND for VU meters that can be bought in a variety of flavors north of $1K? lol

How about trying a layer or two of tinting film, like the kind they use on car windows?
If you went to an auto detailing shop and asked they'd probably give you a couple of scrap pieces to try, might be worth "looking into". (rather than the cardboard...LOL)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

The blue lights bother me too. Can you flip them over to a warm amber color? Something that would emulate the warm glow of tubes would be very soothing.
