I've seen the Acoustic Phase speakers on C/L for like 6 month now w/ very little info in the ad. I tried to Google the maker and nothing came up. I was really curious not that I needed small bookies I just want to hear from the guy. I asked 1st why no price given and then why no location. His reply, I should just throw out a number and and then if we agree we can do the deal at a public location. I said I don't but speakers w/o hearing them 1st and would never do a deal outside. Is this a true scam ? Any info on these speakers which I have 0 interest in.

Like I said I could not find a thing on them ,not to mention he wanted me to throw out a price then do the deal in public w/o hearing them. Not a chance.

Looks like a pair of 1970s house brand, monkey coffin loudspeakers -- the kind of thing that the "discount hifi stores" of the day would throw in with a package system, "all for the low, low discount price of $399.95".

Worth maybe $10 the pair -- maybe $20, depending on the drivers used in them.

Not a scam, probably, but it's a CL auction, which, last I knew was (still) prohibited by CL.

EDIT: More info on the brand:

If the speakers are indeed loaded with Philips drivers (and, of course, if they work!) there is probably some value in them there boxes.
