Been reading some great comments on both the 7 disc and smaller 2 disc sets. Anyone here listened to them yet? While I would love to have the 7 disc set I'll probably get the other one. Just can't see me listening to several live performances of similar play lists.
Yep, my name really is Bob.

If it included some live Tales recording(s) from 1973/74 I would be all over it in an instant. I haven't bought or listened to this yet however as Yessongs is from the same tour as this set. On a positive note, this may sound sbtter than Yessongs as the recording (particualrly the audio on the movie) is not the greatest.

I am definately interested in what people have to say about it, however.

"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

One of my buddies got the 7 disc set. He has only listened to a couple discs, and said they were good, but he did mention the bass was rather subdued in the mix. I didn't get the impression that he was jumping for joy concerning the SQ. He's a Yes (Jon Anderson Yes, that is) fanatic, having seen them many times during their hey-day, including the famous 1976 tour that started on today's date. He said the two disc set is an attempt to select what would've been a representative set list from the period.

Thanks for the info Bob. I may try out the 2 CD version to see how it goes.

The band needs to get off their a$$ and release some Tales tour show(s), IMO. All of Close To The Edge and all of Tales From Topographic Oceans played live. Best show(s) ever done by YES, IMO. Their musicianship and writing abilities were top notch during these shows, although the Relayer tour is a close second.

Get on it YES (Steve Howe, Jon Anderson, Alan White, Rick Wakeman)! Chris has too much to worry about right now to worry about releasing live shows.

Here's a photo my buddy sent me of YES/Peter Frampton at JFK. The old Spectrum Arena and Vets baseball stadium in the background. So impressive. And YES is not in the R&R Hall of Fame? Are you kidding me? What a joke. Not sure of the year of this photo, could it be '76?

A cool photo, probably a helluva a show too! Leaving Yes out of the HOF is truly a sin knowing some that actually made it in.

Yeah, that photo is from 1976. One of the biggest selling shows of all time right there. :)

Regardless of who is or is not in the RRHOF, YES should have been in 20+ years ago. At this reate, based upon who they are letting in now, it'll be worthless when they do get in. :/

    Oh well, ce la vie.
