I need a new amp, don't have a lot of money, will the UPA-200 be powerful enough to push the 705s? Thoughts?

i am currently pushing a pair of SDA-2 speakers with a UPA-200 and i've got tons of power available, plenty of headroom (i've got a power meter connected to the speakers too) i am driving them full range too, no sub, that amp never, gets hot and barely ever gets warm! i also watch movies in my 2 channel system on blu-ray from an oppo 105 so i can tell you, it can take driving super audio effects movies with no problems too so, you should be fine!

good luck whatever you decide to do, keep us posted buddy!

that amp never, gets hot and barely ever gets warm!

That would generally indicate that it's heavily biased in class B and very little in class A.
