need site for comparison

I saw a 5 shelve Target Audio rack on C/L. This would be way better than my black lacquer monstrosity I have now. He's asking $100 and I can't swing that work and firm was not in the ad so I'm waiting for a return mail. What I could not find was the site for Target Audio Racks. Anyone who knows this please post link so I know what it went for new. This is what it looks like and the top shelf would be perfect for my tt and I think all my other devices would fit. I do have measurements for all. Thanks Lew

I did some quick searches for you. Everything i read about "Target Audio Products" were items sold in the 90's with nothing recent. My guess is out of business?? Most of the reviews were people trashing the racks for how bad they were. I'd stay clear.

Stretch your budget, grab the Mrs, go for a ride, and grab this!! Dirt stinkin cheap for everything included.

Grab the archetype rack. Last one you will ever need since the shelves are FULLY adjustable and isolated.

Heck I just bought the singe archetype 5.0 and the previous owner had it for 10 YEARS and it's still got little to no wear.

That's high quality materials all around and you can buy wheels for it, spikes for it or just use rubber feet. You can also buy extra shelves if you need more.

Well again,I'm glad I came here 1st. I didn't even go into my mail yet to see if he responded. What I really want and saw but missed it months ago was a 5 shelf glass rack. I'll wait... Thanks again.

DAH!...that Salamander rack is the real deal. I own an Archetype myself (not as many shelves) and it's the cat's n*pples. Run, don't walk.

Well as the ad I pulled says it's real wood and NOT MDF. It does have the 5 shelves I need and the bottom shelf appears to fit my Adcom . Now, I have not heard back from the guy and I have no idea where he lives and I just can't swing $100. So I will wait if he/she answers and if it's w/in reasonable driving distance and no tolls and gas are involved w/ a lowered price I might look at it. Whether or not not the company is out of business is not a concern of mine. The construction certainly is and if it sways 1or2 degress like my rack does now I do not want it. I have measurements of all my gear so I would see if it all fits. It does look good. The Salamander rack is way to wide for my house and can't use it. Besides I'm in central Jersey and the Salamander is way out on Long Island about 31/2hrs 1 way and already way out of my price range besides it won't fit. I need height not width.

    31/2 hours...why, that's 15.75 hours of driving... One way!!! :p
Just bustin your chops. If the Target rack fits the budget and is still together after all these years, I say go for it.

"I need height, not width" that's what she said!

Well,I finally heard from the guy. Now he seems to think judging from the picture I sent him of my present rack he doesn't think all my gear will fit. Then he drones on about his comps for his rack was around $130 and so his price he thinks of $100 is fair. So I did not get into where he is even located with out a price reduction. Close to the end of the month I'm not going for it. If it does not sell in months I may revisit him but we'll see. Again anyone who sees a sturdy 5 shelve high rack on the cheap let me know, please no designer wide racks. Way to costly besides it will not work in my place. just for reference here's what my present rack looks like If you notice the space on the top shelf allows for the tt cover to open all the way. I really do not need the JBL 2060s there so if a top shelf is it that would be fine.j6hv266gujqy.jpg

Keep your eyes open. I picked up this rack at a local Goodwill for under 40.00. It now houses my denon poa which is much large/heavier than the gfa555. They pop up when least expectedu0vfcdtfg4vc.jpg
