Seeking advice for upgrading SC-1222

Good Evening Everyone!!
I cannot handle my featureless SC-1222 any longer. Mainly because it has no working USB port, Ethernet port, Bluetooth port AND a couple of HDMI inputs LOL. Other than that it Still works GREAT but... I need to upgrade!!
My setup is in my SIG.
If using mobile browser then...
-Rti10(drivin by Parasound 1200II)
-CSI5
-Fxi3
I would like to keep with Pioneer for AVR, I have just become accustomed to the UI after 4 models lol.
The SC-1124 Has caught my eye for some time, Sound and vision had given it a great review.
The main things I like are the ESS Sabre DACS, Spotify, front preouts and the 196/24 USB playback and Internet lol.
Have any of you dealt with this AVR? If so, what are your thoughts?
Do y'all Think I would fetch somewhat similar results compared to my 1222 JUST driving the CSI5 and 2 Fxi3's? Volume, sound stage, dynamics etc..? Should I wait for newer AVR'so to come out? I am 98% sure I will not be doing the ATMOS setup. If I will, it'll be a long ways away.
I personally think it might be a lateral move BUT I have the preouts for the mains which is HUGE. I don't think I will be going full preouts for some time.
The features are getting me mainly because mine do not work(darnit).
Your thoughts, suggestions and advice are always appreciated!!
Please let me know as I might be purchasing one VERY SOON and would love your input!!
Cheers!!!

How long have you had it? If my Yamaha were to have that much wrong with it within a couple of years I think I'd be trying a different brand.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I have had it a year/year and half. I bought used knowing the some HDMI inputs not working. The
USB/Ethernet failed about a 6~ months after.
It's weird situation in the USB, the drive(s) light up and I was thinking the are pulling to much power but have tried many different ones with same results unfortunately.
I thought about a different brand, if anything it would be a Yamaha. I cannot stand Denon and iffy on Onkyo maybe even a marantz. This is the only pioneer out of 4 that did this all the others were fine.Polk Lsi9

Yamaha isn't very popular here. I did a whole lot of reading, I don't have any actual facts or numbers but they seem to be the most reliable. That is what I value the most, above watts/current and even above sound quality to a point. I don't want to be spending $1k+ on a decent AVR every 2-3 years, it is a lot of money for me.
Anyhow 1 problem AVR out of 4 doesn't necessarily mean you'll have problems with another Pioneer if that's what you go for. I'm sure the 1224 is a great AVR that you'd be very happy with.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

The units seem to have similar features with the 1124 having the added sub eq control and nicer DAC. Also, you will be moving from the Class D3 amps to A/B amps in the 1124. If you like Pioneer then you can't beat the price of the VSX units vs. the SC units. I had a few of the Elite SC units myself and they are nice. I eventually liked the sound of the top Onkyo units and Audyssey XT32.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2

I think I know someone selling a used SC but forget which model. Will look but it might be right up your alley
Edit: it's a SC-61"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Thanks everybody!!!
and thanks for looking out Ender!!! but will pass since since its the same one I have. I am interested in some newer technology(features mostly)
My biggest concern is the imaging, volume overall sound from the 1124 or similar.
Since the AVR will ultimately be driving 3 speakers total, the Parasound gives enough current to get me a incentive from the electric company from its high current output lmaoPolk Lsi9

WLDock- my thoughts exactly. I originally was thinking about the 1323 or 1523 and the corresponding "elite" models in love the Class D but the price isn't within my budget and plan on finally breaking down for a PS4 lol.
Basically all I want are from preouts. Great USB dac, network and front preouts lol.
Thanks again everybody !! I have been away from the forums for a bit. Always nice to come back and get some great input.Polk Lsi9

Can possibly find the service manual for free online, search for SC-61, SC-63, SC-1222-K

Have you tried reseting the pioneer? My entertainment unit is low on the ground and one day my son decided he wanted to walk behind it. He stepped on the hdmi cables. The port on my tv became very finicky and I could see the connector had been stretched a bit. Luckily it worked when I bent the connector back into shape and pulled downwards on the hdmi cable. The pioneer wouldnt output anything over HDMI. I had tried bending the connectors back into shape. Finally I performed a reset (I forget the procedure) and voila, all my HDMI ports were back.

I have the service manual. Also, I have reset it multiple times without any luck. I had another 1222 that I scored a sweet deal on and repaired it (replaced a diode), unfortunately the power amp was a no go. Everything else worked perfectly, should have kept it and had gotten a 5 channel amp lol. But sold it...
Anyways, I think I am just done all together.
I am looking at some Marantz and the 1124
Maybe another SC or Elite if price is right
Would have to be like the 1323 or a 75 model.
Thanks all!! Whatever I get I will post thoughts and comparison to the class D.
Cheers!!
