The Polk website has these listed for pre-order at $1499.95
Surely that is for a pair, right?

How does everyone think these compare to the older lsifx? I use 2 pairs in my theater set up for surround duty. I've had a bit of a death grip on them. Wondering if they are worth upgrading to match my fronts.2 channel:

If it was me I'd leave the surrounds alone.
The new one may be better but honestly wait till friends and family and then think about it.
I was going to sell my f/x for 650 at one point and had a buyer but ended up not doing it."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Wow 650?! They do seem really hard to come by. They are a phenomenal surround speaker.2 channel:

Yup that's why I sold my LSi 7s to Ryan instead. The F/XS are just killer as surrounds.
And the LSiMs are a pricey option unless they are 5"% off then they are potentially an option but not until then.
And IIRC they are not bipole/dipole so you can't switch between the two.

So far that has been the main deciding factor against the new fx. Love the versatility of bipole/dipole. Would be nice to demo them, they might surprise me.

I'd still have both pairs of the LSiFX speakers I had if I still had a surround system. The switchable bipole/dipole was something that set them apart from competitors. And the two tweeters per speaker. One thing in favor of the LSiM702 is they are 8 ohm and can be run by just about any receiver. Apart from that, I can't think of anything about them that's better than the previous range unless there is a desire to have a complete LSiM system for appearance purposes.
I recall the 702 refurbs were selling on Polk's Ebay site recently for $999 a pair.
