My father has finally decided to dump his VERY old Bose HT system. He was sick of coming to my house and hating his system.
So after a lot of research and listening sessions, we settled on:
NAD T787 receiver
Totem Arro mains
Totem Dreamcatcher center
Totem Dreamcatcher surrounds
Totem Storm sub
Panamax M5400-PM power conditioner
Signal Ultra's for the front soundstage
AudioQuest FLX/DB 14/4 for the surrounds
AudioQuest Pearl HDMI's
AudioQuest Irish Red Sub cable
Second set of Totem Arro's for the sunroom.
I have the NAD set up with the first set of Arro's with some extra Canare wire I had sitting around letting them burn in while we wait for all of the wiring to come in.

That right there is a nice setup! Is he sticking with 5.1 or moving to 7.1?
Also as a afterthought, dual subs rock if he has the budget to pull them off."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

Sticking with 5.1.
He is letting the single Storm break in and going to decide if he wants to add another.

That's not a rig I would describe as "settling on". Congrats to your dad!

Lol.
When I say "settled", it's my way of saying "chose".
He really liked the offerings from Totem. He also demoed the Hawk's and Forest. But he kept going back to the Arro. He liked the quick, forward presentation and great imaging.
He seemed confused. Like, "how could I like the cheaper speaker better?!"
"Am I doing something wrong?!"
