Not intending to stir the pot, but at the end of the day the seller can sell to whoever he wants, regardless of who showed interest in what order.

So if I decide even though @ZLTFUL asked to buy them first, if I really like @tonyb more, I can sell to him instead.

I agree, but you shouldn't be talking money if you're not going to follow through. Just my .02

Did you actually send him money via PayPal, or were you just ready to do so?

I was ready as we had been PM'ing for some time now and I thought we had an E-handshake on a deal, but it's whatever.

Between this thread and my PM's I think the seller may have gotten confused, because some of his "Replies" to my PM's are posted in this thread as standard posts. I was committed as could be, and could have paid last night if my last message had been replied to via PM and not a post on here ..which I didn't see until early this morning. Either way, I still would have paid before the eventual buyer did. Hence the reason I felt slighted and as if these were sold out from under me, because they were. Reasoning why doesn't matter at this point.

I wasn't around until I saw them on Craigslist and it reminded me to hop back on the forums. I haven't been as active since they switched over to new forum format since it's not as friendly to the eyes. I hopped on them as soon as I saw them. Not sure why there was any hesitation. This is the first time I've been in a financial situation to jump on something and they happen to be a close to local as possible.

Not one to want to stir the pot either, but gwh had the speakers up for sale for over a month and finally found someone ready to pay and pick them up now. Villian, I'm sorry you missed out on this great deal, but brother, your distance of 1800 mi. (900 each way???) and paying half now and half on July 4th weekend were a heck of a tall order. Many of us have to pass up on some bargains in the for sale section because of the same situation of too much distance or not enough money to pay the seller in full. Hopefully another bargain will come your way and it will be closer to you.

I was willing to travel 1800 miles one way myself and then 1800 back to get these..sight unseen, full asking price, and I offered 50 percent down 50 percent upon receipt as a *start* to our negotiations. In my last pm I offered to pay in full upfront, even with the associated risk of doing such. I didn't see this ad until the 11th, which is when I first expressed interest. My entire point is that you *shouldn't* entertain offers from someone in the first place if you're going to end up selling it out from under them for whatever reason. It's just bad business. But, if whoever bought these doesn't like them or wants to get them then I'll just buy them from him. I've probably put 30k miles on my car picking up speakers in the last 2 years alone, so I know I'm not going to flake. The fact that I just worked a deal out with Kurt that we started on over a year ago (which originally included these.. Ironically) is testament to that.

I hear you sir. I just think how much money I'd spend on gas driving 3600 mi. to buy some speakers would be ridiculous, just my 2 cents.

If I didn't already have trips to make, I wouldn't do it. But Texas, Missouri, Colorado, and elsewhere are on the work schedule.. So it helps.

Wow - after all the joking I need to seriously switch the dibs to nguyendot since he is literally just a few miles away from me. I greatly, greatly prefer not to ship the Lsi25's - they are too delicate and heavy, IMO.

Makes perfectly good sense Kurt, so much easier and less hassle( no shipping! ) to just sell to someone local. ;)
