GPS tracking & idiots

We use GPS tracking with our fleet of work trucks, a common practice as I'm sure some of you are familiar with.We tell everyone and put a sticker on the drivers side.

So we get lots of cases of guys speeding and coming up with excuses as to why it was necessary.

But today's excuse took the boobie award. I was reviewing a report (after getting a text from the GPS provider of excessive speeding) and noticed one of the units was speeding for around 90 seconds and slow back down to the speed limit for around 30 seconds and It was doing this over and over again for about 30 minutes.

When the driver got back to the shop I ask why he was speeding? At first he denied he was in the wrong but after I showed him the report he finally admitted to speeding and as for why, someone had told him that the GPS only pings it's location every two minutes so he figured he could speed for 90 seconds at a time and get away with it.....

Cheers
Roger

I wouldn't give that guy too much grief if I were you.
That's future management material; he may soon be your boss.
