Recommendations on Non-Bassy Bookshelf Speakers
Seeking suggestions on crisp sounding non-bassy (but not tinny sounding either) bookshelf speakers under $200 new or used that emphasize mid-range and highs. I don't listen to music that has a lot of bass, but rather adult contemporary, classical and female vocalists. My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V870 in a bedroom, currently paired with B&W DM100 and think they emphasize bass too much, even with the treble setting on the receiver all the way up to +5 and the bass setting all the way down to -5. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the speakers either.

If you can up your budget a bit to around $300, a used set of Totem Dreamcatcher might fit your needs.
