Sansui G8000 - Pre Amp + Poweramp internally connected - Want to use the Pre Amp outputs to drive a Subwoofer - Pre Amp/Poweramp Switch: should I leave connected, or disconnect? If disconnect, will the receiver still provide signal (internally) to receiver's Poweramp?

Does the subwoofer not have high level inputs?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Thank you Nightfall (the Assimov short story?) Yes (I believe) it does, but I know next to nothing about audio stuff - That's why I'm here. I am trying to attach a jpeg file that will show what I want to do but I can't get the (File Attach) icon to work for me. I click on it (above) I get a search widow, I finfd my image and click "open)... And that's it - nothing else happens. Would you be able to coach me in this task?

What I'm really worried about is maybe damaging my amp with a harmfull impedance match.

Hello,
The goal is to provide a line level signal, from the preamp output, to the subwoofer and still allow the internal power amplifier to function. Leave the internal connections switch alone and try running a left and right RCA cable from the preamp outputs to the subwoofer.
There won't be any problems with the impedance matching, the preamp has plenty of voltage for the subwoofer and the built in power amp. If there's no audio, then we'll have to go to "plan B". But try it this way first.
