IC: McCormack DNA-1

I have a McCormack DNA-1 that I may consider selling to fund another purchase. It is a wonderful amp as all the reviews will attest. I would like to clear $750 for it. I am still considering whether I want to keep this and sell some other piece of equipment. Let me know if there is any interest.

If I had not just gotten a DNA 0.5, I would be all over this.... and now that I have one and have heard one, I still want to buy this because I'm not sure one is enough. I want a McCormack system in every room....Great amps.

@usp1 - I'm interested. Considering options for finance of this purchase. Do you have any pics? Original packaging? Are you the original owner?

@tonyb - Do you have first-hand experience with this amp? You seem to be a big McCormack fan. Do you think this would mate well with B&W 801f's? They are relatively inefficient speakers. Other gear is my sig.

    TIA

ahhhh! I saw a DNA 2 recently.... so enticing..
Everything I have owned has been 200+ watts, and so far with my DNA 0.5 I haven't missed the 100W. But I see it coming...

I can vouch for the DNA-250 and 500, still own the 500.
Great amps, power houses and very musical and clean sounding.
It was Tonyb that got me into McCormack, Thanks again Tony..

The DNA 1 I believe is rated at somewhere north of 50+ amperes, I know your speakers are power hogs but how much I'm unfamiliar with.

I've had the good fortune of getting my ears on many McCormack amps, even looked for a DNA 500 myself but they rarely come up for sale. Musical, balls, and has a tube like tone to them, one of the best SS amps your gonna find.

For the OP's asking price, you could easily re-sell it for even more coin if it's not enough for your speakers. I've seen the .05 going for this price.

Everything tonyb says about the DNA-1 is true. I have it paired with Maggie 1.6s and with Gallo 3.1s. Both love current and this amp delivers. I bought the 1.6s used from a guy who was driving it with a Pass x250 and I can say that the DNA-1 sounds just as good or better. Musical and very fast. The fact that it is 150W at 8 ohms does not really matter as much since it delivers current in spades.

I have to chime in about the MCCormack sound based on my DNA 0.5... I never fully grasped what people meant by fast bass response until the McCormack. I loved Parasound, B&K, my Conrad-Johnson. All great amps. But the bass (and dynamics) from the McCormack are just a different level to my ears.
And the soundstage is just crazy big and more spatial.... more holographic. It's definitely a brand people should get their ears on if they have the means.

I am waiting to see how my new acquisition pans out before selling the DNA-1. I should get the new amp later this week and then about a week to make sure that I want o indeed sell the DNA-1. I marked this ad as an IC so that it was clear that the sale may take a little time.
