Polk TL3 vs. RTiA
Hello folks,
My first post in here...
I have Polk Blackstone TL3 Left+Center+Right speakers + Polk CS60 (In-ceiling Surrounds) + Polk DSW PRO 550wi paired with a Denon AVR-2112CI. I do not have a dedicated room.
My actual room area is about 320 square feet, but it is on the same room that my dining room. My home theater setup occupies less than half of this area.
I was wondering if migrating to RTiA (RTIA3+CSiA6) would be an interesting upgrade? Or if I should keep my TL3?
Unfortunately, LSiM series are out of my price range...
I am overall satisfied with my TL3s, but the my upgrade virus is active...
Thank you!

Honestly I think that if you want to 'upgrade' without getting into LSiM territory, I think that you are going to have to look outside of Polk. Two ideas that I have owned are the Energy RC 10 and the Def Tech sm350 (or 450). Both are out of production but you can find NOS. Both have more refined tweeters that the RTi series, and are more coherent. And of course they actually have some decent bass. I also am a big fan of NHT, but they definitely have a house sound that does not appeal to everyone. The Classic Twos would also be a nice upgrade. Of course if you are willing to go used, the sky's the limit.

Hello Folks,
Thanks for your comments.
I forgot to mention that I live in Brazil. Unfortunately our used speaker market is much more restrict than in US.
I use my Home Theater daily for watching TV, play XBox One, watch movies (mainly downloaded on my Synology DS214). I do not have any size restrictions, but I do not intend to go with floorstanding speakers.
Maybe I should save some money and acquire a pair of LSiM 703 and a LSiM704c in the future, right?
More opinions are welcome...Polk Audio LSiM 703 MM Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Front Left & Right)

Other question: Would a Denon AVR-2112 (0.1% distortion at 76.6 watts @ 8 ohms, as per Sound&Vision measurements) be able to drive a front trio of LSiMs at reference levels?Polk Audio LSiM 703 MM Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Front Left & Right)

Just get the 703 and wait on the center.
Well, I did the opposite, I got the LSiM 704c on BestBuy Canada (very good deal...) Now looking for a pair of LSiM 703 (with very good price, as well).Polk Audio LSiM 703 MM Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Front Left & Right)

I think the move to RTi would be very eye opening to you (or should I say ear opening, lol).
I was VERY let down by the TL3's.
The TL3 series does a few, and let me stress a few things well. But they leave a lot to be desired.
IMO, a decent speaker should at least cover the male vocal range. -

If you expect the TL3s to fill an entire room the way a pair of bookies or floorstanders will, then you are delusional. But with that said, they do exceptionally well as my pc speakers, and being driven by a sub/36wpc amp they do a very good job for the area I have them in.
Would I use these in place of my 5.2 channel speakers in my livingroom, not a chance.
Could they do a good job of filling my bedroom, yes they could with the help of a sub.
Have realistic expectations of the job the speakers have to do and you won't be disappointed.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

Actually, I am using a kind of a good cable, but cheap cable (Monster XP® Clear Jacket).
Regarding speaker stands, I do not intend to use it... I intend to put these on my rack.

How big is your rack ? They need a good 5 ft between 'em. Monster cable...eh, most around these parts would use something different but whatever floats your boat is cool.
How far away from the speakers is your listening position ? That will dictate a bit more so on how far apart the speakers need to be.HT SYSTEM-
